New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings

We have an intriguing inter-conference clash in the NFL scheduled for Sunday, December 4, so feel free to read the best Jets vs. Vikings betting pick and odds.

Minnesota is looking to stay in the race for the best regular-season record in the NFL when they welcome New York at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings are 3-point favorites on PointsBet NY Sportsbook, while the total is set at 44.5 points. These inter-conference rivals will meet for the first time since 2018.

Jets destroyed the Bears at home

The New York Jets (7-4-0, 7-4-0 ATS) bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to the Patriots with a massive 31-10 home victory over the Chicago Bears at home. The Bears put some resistance in the opening half, but the Jets controlled the tilt in the second 30 minutes and kept the visitors off the scoreboard. New York dominated total yards (466-292) and first downs (22-14).

Mike White completed 228 of 28 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns. Garrett Wilson was impressive with 95 receiving yards and a couple of touchdowns on five receptions, while Elijah Moore and Tyler Conklin combined for 114 yards and a TD on five catches. Zonovan Knight led the team in rushing yards in his first-ever NFL game as he posted 69 yards on 14 carries, while Ty Johnson had 62 yards and a touchdown on five carries. On defense, C.J. Mosley was a standout with team-high ten tackles.

RB Breece Hall (knee) is out for the season, while DT Sheldon Rankins (elbow) and RB James Robinson (undisclosed) are questionable to face the Vikings on Sunday.

Vikings beat the Patriots in a high-scoring affair

The Minnesota Vikings (9-2-0, 5-5-1 ATS) were on a fantastic run of seven consecutive wins, but the Dallas Cowboys shocked them in Minneapolis with a 40-3 win. However, the Vikings managed to respond in the very next game with a 33-26 home victory over the New England Patriots. Minnesota scored ten points in the fourth quarter and allowed none to the Pats, who were better in total yards, but the Vikings did control the possession (36:17-23:43).

Kirk Cousins completed 30 of 37 passes for 299 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Justin Jefferson was a monster in the air once again as he posted a game-high 139 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. Adam Thielen and T.J. Hockenson combined for 104 yards and two scores on 14 catches. As usual, Minnesota didn’t use its run offense much; Dalvin Cook did get 44 yards but on 22 carries. Defensively, Jordan Hicks had a game-high nine tackles.

Trends:

New York:

4-10 in ATS betting in the last 14 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game

2-5 ATS in the last seven games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game

Minnesota:

4-1-1 ATS in the last six games overall

4-0-1 ATS in the last five games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game

New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings Pick

The Jets do have a top 5 defense that is allowing just 17.8 points per game, but as I said for Minnesota’s previous game against New England, a better offense will prevail. Even though the Pats have a better defense than the Vikings, and the Jets’ D is even better, New York doesn’t have an efficient offense, which is likely going to cost them on Sunday. Minnesota has a talented offense, which is still not playing at its full potential, and considering they are the Super Bowl contenders, I expect the Vikings to show that potential in this one.

Pick: Take the Vikings at -2.5 (-130)

Total Prediction

The Jets’ new starting quarterback Mike White already impressed and led the team to 31 points, the second-highest of the season. Minnesota allowed 26+ points in each of its last three games, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jets score 27+ points here.

Also, I am backing the Vikings to outscore the Jets, so my bet here is a high-scoring affair. Over is 13-6 in the Vikings’ last 19 games overall; Over is 8-2 in Minnesota’s previous ten home games, while Over is 14-2 in the Vikings’ last 16 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.

Pick: Go Over 43.5 points (-120)
