New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Odds, Pilih, Prediksi 30/6/22

Houston and New York continue their four-game series at Yankee Stadium with Game 3 on Saturday, June 25, 2022, so we’re taking a closer look at this American League showdown to get you the best Astros vs. Yankees betting pick and odds.

The Astros opened as +110 road dogs for Saturday’s clash, while the Yankees sat at -130 moneyline odds on Caesars NY.

Houston failed to capitalize on Framber Valdez’s strong outing

The second game of this series has been excluded from the analysis, while the Houston Astros suffered a tough 7-6 defeat in Thursday’s opener. Ryan Pressley yielded three hits and a couple of walks in the bottom of the ninth inning, including a three-run homer to Aaron Hicks, and Ryne Stanek couldn’t bail him out, surrendering a walk-off RBI single to Aaron Judge.

The Astros blew a 6-3 lead last Thursday, while Framber Valdez fanned seven across six innings of work. Valdez served a three-run dinger to Giancarlo Stanton in the bottom of the first, but he’s been terrific for the rest of the way.

Cristian Javier will toe the slab Saturday, and the 25-year-old right-hander is 4-3 with a solid 3.07 ERA, 3.13 FIP, 1.17 WHIP, and 68/23 K/BB ratio in nine starts and four relief appearances (55.2 innings) this season. Javier took a win in a 4-3 home victory over the Chicago White Sox last Sunday, throwing five innings of a one-run, two-hit ball.

The Yankees continue to mash

The New York Yankees extended their winning streak at home to 15 games with that 7-6 victory over the Astros. They hit a couple of three-run homers, and the Yankees are leading the majors with a whopping 117 home runs in 2022.

In their last six outings, the Bombers have homered 12 times. Aaron Judge leads the big leagues with 27 round-trippers this season, and the 30-year-old slugger boasts a .304/.379/.658 triple-slash and a 194 OPS+.

Gerrit Cole will toe the rubber Saturday, and the 31-year-old righty is 6-1 with a 3.14 ERA, 3.17 FIP, 1.02 WHIP, and 103/21 K/BB ratio in 14 starts (80.1 innings) in 2022. Last Monday, Cole whiffed 12 across 7.1 frames of a one-run ball in a no-decision against the Tampa Bay Rays. He’s 2-0 with a 2.83 ERA over his previous five appearances.

Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees Pick

I hit the winner in Thursday’s opener, but it just showed how unpredictable this matchup is. The Astros were on the brink of a huge victory, and Ryan Pressley’s meltdown saved the Yankees’ day. I’ll stick with the Yankees in Saturday’s game only because of their ridiculous offense, which is slugging home runs almost at will.

Gerrit Cole will face off against his former teammates, who have 13 hits and a poor .596 OPS in 61 at-bats against him. On the other side, the current Yankees have only four hits in 34 at-bats versus Cristian Javier, but that will change Saturday.

Pick: Take New York Yankees at -130

The Total:

With so many dangerous bats on both sides, I lean toward the over, but it’s another tricky wager in this marquee matchup. The Astros’ bullpen has registered a 2.95 ERA through 39.2 innings of work in the last 14 days, while the Yankees’ bullpen has recorded a 2.31 ERA across 46.2 frames in that span.

Six of the previous ten encounters between the Astros and Yankees have gone over the total. Also, the over is 6-3 in the Yankees’ last nine outings at home.

Pick: Go over
