Brace yourselves for a busy night in the MLB on Friday, September 30, when we have 16 games, and this divisional clash in one of them, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Orioles vs. Yankees betting pick and odds.
Baltimore and New York will play the first of a three-game series at Yankee Stadium, and the Yankees are -190 moneyline favorites on FanDuel NY Sportsbook, while the total is set at 8.5 runs. These AL East foes have met 16 times this year, and the Yankees lead 11-5.
Orioles will miss out on the postseason
The Baltimore Orioles lost five of the previous six games and will miss out on a wildcard spot despite having an excellent season this year. Baltimore opened the series against the Red Sox with a win, but lost the next three and sealed their fate, so the remaining two series against the Yankees and Blue Jays are not going to change much for the Orioles.
Baltimore took a 2-0 lead in the third inning in Game 4 against Boston, but the Red Sox closed it with a pair of runs in the 8th to get a 5-3 victory. Kyle Stowers hit the third home run of his rookie MLB career, while Gunnar Henderson and Cedric Mullins contributed with a multi-hit display. Mike Baumann (1-3) pitched for 4.0 innings in a no-decision as he allowed two runs on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Dillon Tate (4-4) took a loss.
Jordan Lyles (11-11) will start for the 32nd start of the year when he meets the Yankees on Friday. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 4.55 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 135/51 K/BB ratio in 172.0 innings.
Yankees won the series against the Blue Jays
The New York Yankees are not going to finish atop of the American League, but they are hitting a proper form before the postseason. The Yanks won nine of the last ten games, and the lone defeat came to the Toronto Blue Jays in the opening game of a three-game series in Canada. New York did respond with a pair of victories and is nine wins clear of Toronto right now.
Aaron Judge finally blasted his 61st home run of the season and equaled the AL record set by Roger Maris set in 1961. He led the team with two RBIs as the Yankees dominated the game with 11 hits opposite Toronto’s four. Gerrit Cole improved to a 13-7 record after allowing three runs on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk across 6.1 innings.
Domingo German (2-3) will take the mound for the 13th time this year when he faces the Orioles on Friday. The 30-year-old right-hander owns a strong 3.30 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 46/15 K/BB ratio over 62.2 innings of work.

Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees Betting Pick
The Orioles are quite disheartened after recent results and I am not sure whether they will have any motivation in this game on Friday. On the other hand, the Yankees perhaps cemented their divisional title, but one man is going to give his best to hit at least one more home run and set a new record. Aaron Judge hit a couple of homers in 14 at-bats against Jordan Lyles and will be looking to add one more here. In five starts against the Yankees this year (1-2), Lyles has a 4.71 ERA in 28.2 innings and surrendered six homers.
Pick: Take the Yankees at -1.5 Run Line (+105)
The Total
Lyles is going through his worst month of the season as he registered a 6.86 ERA in September, and I don’t think he will have an easy job against the Yankees on Friday. Domingo German has been solid in September (3.54 ERA), and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Orioles scored a run or two off of him early on. Over is 3-0-1 in the Lyles’ last four starts overall; Over is 4-0 in German’s previous four starts overall, while Over is 8-3 in the last 11 H2H meetings.
Pick: Go Over 8.5 runs (-110)
